Cultural landscape and urban environment

Given the importance that urban regeneration plays today within the recovery processes of cities and the increasing number of interventions promoted within historical - or, in any case, consolidated - fabrics, this issue of the L'ADC Journal aims to discuss some research experiences based on the analysis of the context. The goal is to highlight how historical investigation is a fundamental prerequisite for the design phase and how these aspects affect the transformation of individual buildings and the surrounding environment.

Considerata l’importanza che oggi ricopre la rigenerazione all’interno dei processi di recupero delle città e il numero sempre maggiore di interventi urbani promossi all’interno dei tessuti storici– o comunque consolidati – fondati sulla conoscenza storica del contesto, questo numero della rivista si propone di discutere alcune esperienze di ricerca, evidenziando come tale indagine sia presupposto fondamentale per la fase progettuale e consideri gli aspetti del singolo edificio come anche del contesto urbano e naturale circostante.
